Clean up with the HOD!
May is preservation month, and as part of the celebration, the Heart of Danville is organizing a downtown cleanup day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 18. Volunteers are needed for minimal cleaning, sweeping, and picking up trash in the downtown area, as well as cleaning the log cabins at Constitution Square Park. The HOD seeks to preserve the state historic site, as well as clean up for the thousands of visitors that will flock to downtown Danville for the 2012 Great American Brass Band Festival, June 7-10.
People should bring their own work gloves, and the HOD will supply cleaning materials. Those interested should call (859) 236-1909 or email info@downtowndanville.com.
Volunteers can work as much or as little time as they would like and are not expected to work the entire day.
